Linda Coan has always enjoyed creating art, including watercolors and textile art. Her current focus is soft pastel. She shifted to pastel after being inspired by the art of Patty Forte Linna. “ I thought that pastel so beautifully combines drawing and painting in one medium,” she stated.
Linda has further inspired by the art of local artists such as Janis Graves ( pastel), and Mary Anderson (watercolor), as well as California textile artist Jean Ray Laury. She loves indigenous art from around the world, too.
When asked what she tries to convey through her pastel art, she answers, “Reflections from my travels, gardens – anything that catches my eye.”

Linda appreciates both the creative energy and the shared learning of the Open Studio format at Artworks, where she can be found most Thursdays trying a new creative challenge.

Linda’s art can be seen at www.instagram.com/linda_coan_art.
Her art will be displayed at Artworks, along with 14 other artists at the August 21st Art Walk Edmonds.
