Welcome to ArtWorks. There’s a lot of information on this website. If you are new to the area or have wondered about what goes on in ArtWorks, we recommend the following ways to approach getting to know us better.

1. Start by looking at our calendar. This will give you an idea of what activities take place here each week. You can look at the calendar weekly or by the month. If you are on your phone just tap on a date and a scheduled event will pop up if there is one. Then explore from there —looking at any sections that interest you.

2. Come to an Open Studio. They are regularly held Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. This is a great way to commit to a weekly art practice. Bring your lunch (we have a full kitchen and refrigerator). You’ll make new art friends, too. Open Studio time is just $8 per session. Pay in advance by credit card or pay by cash on the day you attend.

3. Sign up for a class. We regularly offer oil painting, drawing, watercolor, mixed media, and the business of art classes. Payment links for registration are on the particular class description page.

4. Propose a class. If you are an art teacher or other creative you can propose a class.

5. Sign up for an Open Session. If you just need practice more than instruction, our Open Session opportunities align with improving your skills at a reasonable $18 per session. Sunday day and Monday evening live-model sessions are available each week (or as calendar indicates). Friday evening oil painting sessions are also available the last two Fridays of each month.

6. Become a monthly Locker artist. As a locker artist you have access to storage for your art supplies. (Although if you are like most artists, you still bring additional materials). You can also use the building whenever other art events aren’t scheduled. Artists who work during the day like this option, as well as artists who know they want to paint two or more times per week.

7. Attend an Artists Connect meeting. They are free and held on the 4th Saturday of each month from 10 to 12pm, except for July due to the annual ArtSplash art show that Artists Connect puts on the third weekend of July. You get to see the facility and meet local artists. Various presentations and interactive demonstrations typically take place.

8. Rent the facility for a creative event or workshop.

Always check the calendar to see the latest happenings at Artworks.
